Paula Moreau, PhD, RN
Dr. Paula Moreau received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from New York University in 1978, and her Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Worcester/UMass Medical School in 2015. Dr. Moreau has 30 years of clinical experience in the fields of Maternal-Child Health and care of families affected by HIV/AIDS. Dr. Moreau is professor of nursing at Quinsigamond Community College and is the author of publications dealing with AIDS in the family, nursing education through simulation, and faculty engagement with underrepresented minority students. Dr. Moreau has a long-standing interest in identifying best practices to support the success of underrepresented minority nursing students. For her dissertation, Dr. Moreau developed and psychometrically validated an instrument to measure faculty engagement with underrepresented minority (URM) nursing students. A manuscript highlighting the results of this study has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Nursing Measurement. She is currently working on a manuscript that summarizes the findings of a study she recently conducted which identifies and distinguishes the perspectives of nursing faculty and nursing students regarding perceived barriers to URM student educational success.
