Betsy Frank, PhD, RN ANE
Betsy Frank is professor emeritus, Indiana State University School of Nursing, Terre Haute. She has taught nursing since 1970 in New Mexico, North Carolina, Utah, Texas, Washington, Ohio, and Indiana. Although retired, Dr. Frank continues to teach online nursing courses for Indiana State University and is active in professional organizations, including serving on the inaugural National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) Board of Commissioners. Dr. Frank has been awarded several grants to support nursing education and has served as manuscript and book reviewer for nearly all nursing publishers. She has contributed chapters to numerous books, including Feldman’s Educating Nurses for Leadership; Oermann’s Annual Review of Nursing Education; Billings and Halstead’s Teaching in Nursing, fifth edition; and Oermann’s Teaching in Nursing and the Role of the Educator, second edition. Dr. Frank is also co-author of Halstead and Frank, Pathways to a Nursing Education Career, now in its second edition. She has received the NLN Excellence in Teaching Award and the MNRS Advancement of Science Award for the Nursing Education Research Section and several other awards.
